        The original paintings on this site are subject to change, to be available or sold at any time. I do my best to update as often as possible, and to load new artwork as it becomes available.        A large part of my work is commissioned portraits. I have two categories of studio portrait commissions: Pastel Portraits and Pencil Portraits.

Pastel Portraits
       Several Pastel Portraits can be seen in my "Pastel Paintings" and "Little Gems" artwork collections. I prefer to take my own reference photos if possible, or I can give you advice on photographing your subject. The quality, lighting and composition of the reference photos has a direct relation to the quality of the finished portrait. My goal with each Pastel Portrait commission is to create a work of art of award-winning quality; an heirloom that can be passed down through generations.
       Expect a Pastel Portrait to take 4-6 months from initial planning stages to completion.

Pastel Portrait Commission Prices

    Basic (head & shoulders)
           9x12 or smaller    $750
          11x14                    $1000                
          16x20                    $2000
          20x24                    $3000

     To include hands & arms add 50%

     For full body view add 100%

Prices are for one person or pet. 50% off each additional subject in the same painting. Size will be influenced by the number of subjects and desired view.

Sales tax and framing is additional.Custom framing for any size can be arranged.

Pencil Portraits
       I have Pencil Portrait samples in my "Pencil Portraits" artwork collection. These have been a thriving business for me since 1986, especially during the Holiday season. These are mostly drawn from your photos, and almost any photo will do, as long as the detail in the face is clear. I can also combine separate photos into one family portrait. A specialty is working from old antique photos.
       Expect a Pencil Portrait to take 4-6 weeks from when I receive your order. (I may actually have a faster turnaround during the Christmas Season, as more of my time is devoted to these orders. Please contact me!)

These prices are for a "basic" head & shoulders portrait. For more of the body/scene, see my order form or contact me.
8x10 Pencil Portraits include an 11x14 mat. 12x15 Pencil Portraits include a 16x20 mat. A selection of frames are kept in stock for these sizes. Sales tax and framing is additional. Custom framing can be arranged for 16x20 or other sizes.

Live Event "Quick-Sketches"
        Most of the rest of my work (for which I may still be best known) is sketching caricatures and portraits at festivals and craft shows. I maintain competitive pricing for these live sketches, marketing the guests who come to such events, in other words, everybody!  My clients' best bargain is definitely a portrait or caricature sketch drawn at one of the events on my schedule.
       My home studio, which is still under construction, will offer in the future opportunities for private appointments for live sittings, which will then be priced in line with my other studio work.

      By popular demand, I have included my prices for mail-order, studio-drawn caricatures. These are my "regular" prices for the style of caricature I do live at festivals for much less. All prices are per face. No bodies, no scenes.
